Important Letter From Pastor Doug

Greetings, In The Name of JESUS, from P. Doug!

It is with mixed emotions that we at REDEEMER EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH say goodbye to our beloved Deacon, Dori Dunham. She, the boys and her dad are moving to GULF BREEZE outside of Pensacola to be near her daughter and family.  Her letter of explanation is enclosed.  I, as her pastor, have been so blessed by her great leadership, powerful faith, and dedication to Redeemer especially through the last few years,  She has been an inspiration to me and all of us, and she will be greatly missed.

Please participate in this GOODBYE DRIVE BY on Saturday, November 28th at Noon, wave goodbye and maybe toss a card out the window expressing your gratitude for all Dori has meant to you and our REDEEMER family.  We will DRIVE BY her home:

6724 Plantation Pines Blvd.
Ft. Myers, Fl. 33966

This DRIVE BY replaces our original plan to meet at Pott's Sports Café due to increasing cases of the pandemic.

Since all was shut down in March, we continued to pay our reduced rent to Refuge Church as we could. However, they found a church who was willing to pay their full asking price, starting immediately.  In that light, our council decided to leave that venue and look for another place of worship.  We explored options again at the Lab Theater, which still is on the table, but also is a high price for weekly worship.  With our beloved Deacon Dori leaving us, the logistics of another high rent venue seems overwhelming.  Our council suggested potentially exploring possibilities with a sister church. SO:

I had a long and very nice, positive conversation on Tuesday, November 17th, with PASTOR JHON CORREA. He is the PASTOR of FAITH EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH (I served there from 2002 -2009), 705 EAST LEELAND HEIGHTS BLVD., LEHIGH ACRES FL 33936. English Worship at 10:00 AM & Spanish Worship at 11 AM. The great, good news is that we are all welcome to worship at Faith immediately  with open arms (no hugs-with masks-6 feet apart, etc. CDC) and can receive COMMUNION in individual packets.  Pastor Jhon says, "Yes, there is room for us".  As far as how and if these conversations between our two CHURCH COUNCILS proceed, is to be determined sometime in the future by THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.  For now, all at REDEEMER have a place to worship, if you feel safe doing so.

Our GREAT GOD has not forgotten us or abandoned us, and we still have so much to be thankful for this THANKSGIVING.

ALLELUIA! GOD is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work,  ALLELUIA! (2 COR.9:8)
